    DAVIDE:
    Miglioramento genetico:

    ENGLISH:

    Genetic improvement:
    The genetic improvement of an association called ANARB (National Association of Cattle Breeders Bruna) has Brought to the Italian race Increased protein, conformation and longevity.
    The protein is improved by 3.50%(the average Italian ) to 3.69% (since Taken From 20 Best Breeders What engage in this race).
    This provides dates with remarkable precision measurement of the potential of the Italian Brown: The Best Italian Breeders can product more milk(more than 100 kg per year with Num A fat percentage of 3.96%) and more rich in protein.
    The matrix of All Genetic improvement of European Bruna started From United States d ' America.

    Other curiosity:
    Strengths: La Bruna can boast a high aptitude of milk it produces processing milk thanks to titles that are the highest in the Italian breeds. In the most Bruna has the best casein content, the highest incidence of favorable genetic variants of k - casein and beta - casein and beta - lactoglobulin.

    Weaknesses: Among the genetic diseases that characterize Brown is BLAD syndrome, syndrome, determines the total ineffectiveness of the immune defense and rapid death of the calf. There are also serious malattive neuromuscular spinal load . The increased risk of genetic diseases is not the only negative consequence . It can also lead to a loss of milk production in the career of the cow( you can lose up to 6 kg of milk protein!)

    The brunette italian has always been a great exploitative of the pastures with rough terrain, where it lives in perfect harmony with the environment.
    It is the second breed of milk in Italy, in terms of the spread

    With assets of about 500,000 heads, the Brown cows bred in Italy are more than 400,000, 160,000 heads enrolled Herd Book, 104,000 cows undergo functional checks and of these more than 90% and 'artificially inseminated.

    You could also write this definition: the Italian Brown is a breed capable of giving considerable milk production of interesting quality with cheese yield significantly above average, particularly suited to the production of cheeses with good yields in meat quality and with great ability to adapt to various environments, agricultural .

    The selection is aimed at the preservation of the dual attitude of the race and then the production of subjects of good size, height and weight, correct conformation, for early development and productivity, fruitful and long-lasting good nevrilit, with aptitude to consistently high production milk with a high titre of fat and protein and can provide convenient production of meat.

    The index for the economic evaluation is ITE (Total Economic Index) and the relative economic weights are:

    Milk: 50
    fat / kg: 1
    protein / kg: 3
    Fat: 0.1 %
    Protein: 0.4 %
    Morphology: 0.5
    Also, if an animal has the locus of k-casein AB index genetic protein is rewarded by 2.5%, while if it presents BB is rewarded with 5%.

    The breed has a reduced availability of blood lines and increased inbreeding. The rate of inbreeding of the breed is not much higher than the Friesian.
    Due to the increase of inbreeding, over time have found more and more genetic diseases. This is not the only negative consequence, as in the Friesian was calculated that the increase in the coefficient of inbreeding results in a loss of 177 kg of milk during the productive life of the cow.

    You could add that programs and objectives Anarb are essentially oriented towards an update of the selection, through:
    - The performance test;
    - The breeding values;
    - Morphological evaluation;
    - The pair planned;
    - Research of genotypes;
    - The quality of the milk.

    The environment
    Always great exploitative even the roughest pastures , where he lives in perfect harmony with the environment , the Italian Brown has assets of about 750,000 leaders and is the second dairy breed in Italy in terms of diffusion .

    Traditionally reared in small companies the most disadvantaged areas , today the Italian Brown , thanks to the quality and peculiarities of its productions , occupies positions of prestige even in medium to large companies in the Po Valley .
